In the Irkutsk region, the fight against bovine nodular dermatitis continues, and veterinarians are taking measures to prevent the spread of this disease among livestock. According to the latest data, the vaccination zone has been significantly expanded to include 14 districts of the region.

In four areas where this virus was previously detected , veterinarians have already completed primary vaccination of livestock. Within the boundaries of the emergency zone (ES), 89.1 thousand heads of livestock were vaccinated, which is 100% of the plan. Revaccination has already been carried out in 63% of animals. However, vaccination

is not only carried out in disadvantaged areas . According to the recommendations of ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , work is underway to vaccinate animals in areas located along federal and regional roads. This helps prevent the spread of the disease and protect livestock in all vulnerable areas. At the moment, 136.3 thousand heads of livestock have already been vaccinated in 14 districts of the region, which is 67% of the plan. In general, 316.7 thousand heads of livestock were vaccinated on the territory of 24 municipalities, which is 80% of the plan. Veterinarians' goal is to complete vaccination of livestock by March 15, with revaccination scheduled before March 25. To control the entry and exit of livestock from the region, checkpoints were installed on the borders with Buryatia and the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Inspectors from Rosselkhoznadzor of the Veterinary Service of the Irkutsk Region are on duty there. BLS is a serious threat to livestock, so vaccination is essential to prevent its spread. Veterinarians in the Irkutsk region are actively working on this problem to ensure the safety of livestock and maintain the HEALTH of animals.
