The ROSSELKHOZNADZOR initiated an investigation into the ways of introducing and transmitting the pathogen with the involvement of inspectors from the territorial administration and prosecutors.

Aleksey Palkin , HEAD of the Rosselkhoznadzor department for Chuvashia, said that the family, who had contracted anthrax, owns a subsidiary farm where two bulls and seven sheep were kept. Now experts have to find out whether they were examined by veterinarians, whether they were vaccinated. Presumably, the head of the family became infected while cutting the carcass of a bull, injuring himself with a knife. The beef was sold before the first signs of the disease appeared.
