The number of cattle has increased in Buryatia

In Buryatia, according to the data at the end of March, the number of cattle in farms of all categories, according to calculations, amounted to 358.1 thousand heads. This is 0.7% more than the same date of the previous year. Of the total number of livestock in the farms of Buryatia, there are 141.9 thousand cows (0.9% more), 138.5 thousand pigs (6.7% more).

The number of sheep and goats also increased in the republic - 298.1 (4.8% more), as well as poultry - 460 thousand heads, which is 4.6% less. In January-March of this year, farms of all categories, according to calculations, produced 9.1 thousand tons of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight). This is 3.7% more than the corresponding period of the previous year. MILK production decreased - it was produced by 11 thousand tons, which is 7.4% lower than in the same period last year. Egg production has also decreased in Buryatia - 23 million pieces, which is 6.3% less than the same period last year.
