In Bryansk, opponents of Miratorg's smelly pigsties are preparing for trial

Residents of the Pochep village of Semtsy in the Bryansk region continue to resist the construction of Miratorg's pig farms. Recently, the struggle has reached the point of blocking roads and blocking with special equipment. The agricultural holding has thrown huge amounts of money into information PR, for which it is ready to pay hundreds of thousands of rubles, talking about the benefits and wonderful properties of its projects.

But when the stench and stench threaten the comfort of habitual life, then people begin to resent.

According to sanitary standards, before fresh pig manure pereprete and becomes a fertilizer, it is supposed to be kept in a manure collector for up to three and a half years. An open manure collector in a professional language is called the word "lagoon". Covered with a thick, up to 50 cm, crust of dried manure, the lagoon spreads strong and not harmless secretions in the air: inorganic compounds of hydrogen sulfide, ammonia, gaseous decomposition products of manure and pig bristles, microorganisms sprayed in a gaseous medium. Experts say that even birds avoid being near the lagoon. An unexpected change in the wind rose - and the population of nearby villages and cities can feel the proximity of the pig farm.

Defending the interests of fellow countrymen, residents of the Semetsky rural settlement went to court. On January 19, a preliminary hearing (conversation) was held on the claim of the residents of the Semetsky rural settlement to cancel the decision of the Pochepsky District Council of People's Deputies on the transfer of agricultural land for the construction of Miratorg pigsties. At that time, almost all local deputies supported this decision, ignoring the fact that 95% of the residents voted against the transfer at public hearings. Indifferent activists from the city of Bryansk came to support the Semchans.

Court hearings are yet to come. Land intended for growing agricultural crops has not yet been transferred to another status: it is illegal to build industrial facilities on the fields. But this does not stop Miratorg with the full tacit consent of the environmental prosecutor's office and authorities at all levels.
