Ilshat Fazrakhmanov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Belarus andMinister of Agriculture , spoke about breeding work in the field of dairy cattle breeding in the region. He noted an increase in commercial milk production thanks to thoughtful breeding work, the introduction of high-tech herd management methods, and modern technologies for feeding and caring for animals.

However, according to him, this is not enough. Future plans include further improving cow productivity using genetics as a key performance indicator in animal husbandry.

At the meeting, it was noted that previously genomic selection was mainly carried out by foreign companies, which for the most part left the Russian market. Now it is necessary to carry out rapid and effective import substitution. Experts came to the conclusion that thanks to the launch of a long-term program, a sustainable dairy herd selection system will be created in the region, which will lead to a significant annual increase in cow productivity.

The initiative to implement this program belongs to the Innopraktika company and has been launched in the leading agricultural regions of Russia since the beginning of 2022.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Belarus, "National Intellectual Development" from Moscow, Bashkir State Agrarian University, ANO "Altyn Solok", JSC "Bashkirskoe" for breeding work, the research institute for the study of Bashkir horses "Bashkort aty" (Bashkir horse), Veterinary Committee of the Republic and heads of large agricultural enterprises in the region.
