In the Baimaksky district of Bashkiria, cattle were under the threat of lumpy skin disease. Quarantine introduced.

The head of the district administration, Fanis Aminev, on his page on social networks, said that the disease of cattle with signs of infectious nodular dermatitis was found in the village of 1st Turkmenevo, Mukasovsky rural settlement. After inspection and sampling, 17 personal subsidiary farms with infected and recovered animals were identified, where 124 heads of cattle are kept, and two peasant farms with a total livestock of 76 heads. All infected animals were eliminated.

“Today we held a meeting with the residents of the village where the outbreak of this disease was discovered, the specialists answered all their questions. People are very concerned about this problem, since for many of them raising livestock is an income. Quarantine posts have been set up around the settlement to localize the focus of the disease. Quarantine has been introduced for 3-4 weeks so far, we will constantly monitor the situation. Tomorrow we should receive a vaccine, with which we will inoculate all livestock within a radius of 15 km, it includes about 8 villages. Of course, 2021 was not an easy year for the region's agriculture. They fought against the invasion of locusts, gypsy moth, the consequences of a severe drought, to which forest fires were added. We hope that together with the residents we will quickly cope with this problem,"

According to experts, the external signs of the disease are fever, loss of live weight and productivity, damage to the lymphoid system, swelling of the subcutaneous tissue and internal organs, the formation of nodules in the skin and internal organs, damage to the eyes and mucous membranes of the respiratory and digestive organs. At the same time, lethality in lumpy dermatitis does not exceed 10%, however, in case of complications with secondary microflora and a number of other diseases, the mortality rate increases.

The head of the municipality appealed to the residents of Baimaksky district with a request to comply with the following rules:
