In 2024, Rostov Oblast increased meat production and reduced livestock numbers

Thus, the volume of production in farms of all categories of livestock and poultry MEAT in live weight increased by 5.9% compared to the same period last year, to 192.6 thousand tons. The volume of MILK production remained at the level of last year - 518.5 thousand tons. The production of chicken eggs increased by 4.8%, to 838.2 million units.

At the same time, the number of cattle in agricultural organizations, households and peasant farms decreased by 0.6% compared to last year, amounting to 669.2 thousand heads as of July 1. The number of sheep and goats decreased more significantly - by 7.1% (908.1 thousand heads), the number of pigs corresponds to last year's level (332.6 thousand heads).
