
Imports of cattle meat in the first quarter of 2022 in Uzbekistan increased by 4.6 thousand tons over the year, the press service of the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan reported on April 29.
“In January-March 2022, 10.4 thousand tons of cattle meat were imported to Uzbekistan from 9 countries in the amount of 46.3 million US dollars . Imports of cattle meat increased by 4.6 thousand tons compared to the corresponding period last year,” the press service reports.
It is specified that Uzbekistan for three months mainly imported cattle meat from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Brazil and Ukraine.
Vaccination of animals started in the LPR
Thus, Belarus supplied 6.3 thousand tons to Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan supplied 2.6 thousand tons, Brazil supplied 571 tons, and Ukraine 437.5 tons.
Recall that Uzbekistan itself also grows cattle. In the next three years, the livestock complexes of the republic promised to supply about 752 thousand heads of cattle to the local market. It was specified that 500 thousand of them will be represented by meat breeds. The government of the republic plans to allocate about 13.5 trillion soums (about 85 billion 725 million rubles) for the development of animal husbandry and provide additional benefits to livestock breeders.
