According to Alexander Isaevich, CEO of the SME Corporation, small and medium-sized businesses in agriculture include farmers who are actively shaping a new consumer culture and the healthy eating trend . In 2024 , SME agricultural producers were able to attract approximately 15.4 billion rubles in debt financing with the support of the SME Corporation. To ensure access to markets, 92 "farmer islands" were established in 36 regions of the country, helping producers reach retail shelves. More than 1,000 agricultural producers are already working on these platforms.
The largest number of agricultural SMEs is concentrated in the Krasnodar Krai, Rostov Oblast, and the Republic of Bashkortostan. These three regions represent 33% of the country's total agricultural SME sector. According to the data, the largest increase in the number of SMEs since the beginning of 2025 was recorded in North Ossetia, Bashkortostan, and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
