Options for temporary "designation" of animals in case of loss of marking equipment have been approved

An important outcome of Soyuzmoloko's work on this issue is the elimination of the requirement in the regulations to isolate animals in the event of loss of identification.

On large farms, such situations can occur quite frequently, and the animals that have lost their identification are not sick or suspected of being sick. Therefore, instead of isolating them, the regulator chose to "mark" the animals until they are assigned a new identification.

The term "mark" refers to any temporary identification method for the animal—a piece of cloth, food coloring, or any other means.

The regulations will come into effect on March 1, 2024 , and the obligation to conduct a cattle census begins on September 1, 2024.
