Successes of the Russian agro-industrial complex: growth of exports and achievement of self-sufficiency

RUSSIA confidently ranks third in the world in terms of food supplies, which became possible due to the introduction of new technologies, selection and the expansion of agricultural land. In 2023, the level of self-sufficiency in domestically produced seeds reached 67.6%, significantly reducing dependence on imports.

Particular attention is paid to successes in breeding, such as wheat, sunflower, soybean and SUGAR beet , which allows not only to meet domestic needs, but also to EXPORT products to international markets. Thus, the growth of exports has a positive effect on domestic prices and the availability of quality products for the population.

Despite the achievements, some challenges remain, including climate change and the need to introduce new technologies. However, given government support and current trends, Russian agriculture has every chance of further success.
