Argentine beef exports in 2022 are projected at 700,000 tonnes slaughter weight, 30,000 tonnes below the USDA's official forecast .

This number is the result of significantly less beef slaughter and production than previously predicted. The forecast for the country's cattle population for 2022 is lowered to 53.27 million heads, which is 640,000 HEAD below the previous USDA forecast, primarily due to severe drought in the north and northeast of Argentina, combined with devastating fires in livestock areas, especially in the province of Corrientes, which will negatively affect the performance of the next calving season.
