According to preliminary data published by INAC over the last 30 working days, the historical maximum reached in May 2022 has not yet been broken, and the figure of $5,454 recorded in August has not been reached.
Last week, the average EXPORT revenue (IMEx) was $5,752, and the gap continues to widen year-on-year, reaching an average of $4,934, up almost 21% from $4,092 a year earlier.
In the period from August 1 to August 30, the export volume amounted to 39,957 tons, exceeding the previous year’s figure by 10%.
Towards the end of the month, CHINA showed positive dynamics: shipments increased by 12% compared to the same period last year and reached 16,160 tons, which again confirmed its status as the main consumer of Uruguayan beef. it accounted for 40% of the total export volume.
Shipments to the US also increased by 9,564 tonnes (+12% y/y), while exports to the EU amounted to 8,633 tonnes (+61% y/y).
Lamb price exceeds US$6,000
The latest 30-day moving average price remains within a historically high range, averaging $6,411 per tonne of exported mutton.
From August to the 30th, the volume of exports decreased year-on-year by almost 24% and amounted to 608 tons.
Last week, 145 tons were shipped overseas at an average price of $6,149.
The main destination was Brazil with 177 tons, followed by Israel and CANADA with 87 tons.
Currently in 2025, the annual aggregate price is $5,378, up 43% from $3,753 the year before.
