Unique characteristics of the Kholmogory cattle breed: achievements of breeding farms in the Komi Republic

The two breeding farms in the region are Prigorodny LLC and Ukhta-97 Plemkhoz LLC. There are also two reproduction farms, Mezhadorskoye LLC and Izvailsky-97 Plemkhoz LLC, as well as the gene pool farm Inta Pripolyarnaya Agrocomplex LLC, which maintains the purebred Kholmogory cattle of the Pechora zonal type PKh-1—a unique herd in Russia.

In 2024 , the best results in milk yield per forage-fed cow were shown by the breeding farm OOO Prigorodny with a figure of 8301 kg and the breeding farm OOO Mezhadorskoye with a figure of 8751 kg.
