Almost all the pig population is concentrated in agricultural organizations, and not in backyards
According to Tomskstat, as of April 1, 2021, the number of cattle in the region amounted to 80.3 thousand heads, pigs - 263.1 thousand heads, poultry - 4481 thousand heads. The data includes calculations in farms of all categories, including agricultural organizations, peasant farms and personal subsidiary plots.
Compared to April 1, 2020, the number of pigs increased by 5.2%, poultry - by 3.2%. At the same time, the number of cattle decreased by 0.5%.
The largest part of the pig population (90%) is kept in agricultural organizations.
The distribution of the number of cattle by categories of farms is more even: 40% of the livestock is concentrated in the households of the population, 41% in agricultural organizations and 19% in peasant (farm) farms and individual entrepreneurs.
In January-March 2021, farms of all categories produced 37.1 thousand tons for slaughter of livestock and poultry (in live weight), which is 6.3% more than in January-March 2020. MILK production has not changed and amounted to 32.6 thousand tons. Egg production increased by 1.9% and amounted to 27 million eggs.
The main producers of livestock products are agricultural organizations, they produced 92% of livestock and poultry for slaughter (in live weight), and 70% of milk.
