Only 12% of Russian citizens buy halal products for religious reasons - survey

According to the survey results, 64% buy halal poultry MEAT , 55% said they are ready to buy it in the future. 49% buy certified halal meat products, and consumers note their readiness to buy it in the future. Respondents also reported that 42% buy halal beef , and 47% emphasized their readiness to buy it in the future. Halal lamb is bought by 29%, and a third will continue to buy it.

It is emphasized that 20% of Russian citizens use halal MILK and dairy products. Of those surveyed, 30% expressed a desire to see these products in stores. Halal cheese and eggs are purchased by 17%, certified plant-based products - 18%.

Half of respondents believe that halal products are of higher quality, a third think that they do not contain GMOs, harmful additives or preservatives. Almost a third believe that halal is healthy eating . According to 20%, safe components are used in production and enhanced quality control is carried out.

It is emphasized that only 12% buy these products for religious reasons. 18% of respondents buy them on the recommendation of their loved ones. Only 7% of respondents bought the products because of advertising.

Respondents also expressed a desire to be able to purchase halal confectionery, canned goods, vegan products, soft drinks, cosmetics, household chemicals, medicines and personal care products.

It is noted that in 2023, a national Competence Center for Halal Products and Services was created on the basis of Roskachestvo. However, there are still unscrupulous manufacturers who place the "halal" label on products that are not.
