Tavros entered a new direction for itself - egg production - at the end of 2022. Then "Agricultural Asset Management", which is part of the group, acquired the "Bashkirskaya Poultry Farm" with a capacity of 750 million eggs per year from the Cherkizovo group of companies for 2 billion rubles. Sources of Kommersant say that Tavros is interested in buying the Komsomolskaya poultry farm in the Perm Territory with a capacity of 650 million eggs per year. This asset is up for auction in May at an initial price of 2 billion rubles. put up the bank "Trust", but the auction did not take place due to lack of applications.

According to Rosstat, in the first half of 2023, egg production increased by 2.5% year-on-year, to 23.3 billion eggs. In June, retail eggs cost an average of 77.3 rubles. for a dozen, which is about 4.1% more expensive than a year earlier, and 2.47% cheaper than in May.

Konstantin Korneev, executive DIRECTOR of Rincon Management, says that the table egg market is quite harmonized in terms of supply and demand. According to him, the average profitability in this business is 3-6%, which is not a very high figure, but stable. This could attract Tavros, the expert believes.

Now in the production of food eggs there is only one difficulty - the increase in cost, Korneev continues. “Among the main risks of the egg direction, first of all, it is worth highlighting the increase in cost against the background of the fact that it is not possible to fully compensate for it due to high competition in this market,” he commented to Agroinvestor. Korneev also says demand for eggs is likely to increase due to its affordability to consumers and a likely change in food spending patterns .

Galina Bobyleva, Director General of Rosptitsesoyuz, also notes that a food egg may be the most affordable source of animal protein today, while MEAT prices are actively growing. Albert Davleev, President of Agrifood Strategies, told Kommersant that by controlling poultry farms in several regions, you can get better conditions for distribution from federal networks, and in the future, invest in the development of deep egg processing (liquid eggs, dry mixes, etc.) which is currently in high demand.

The main assets of Tavros are concentrated in Bashkiria. The company's website says that its land bank is 163 thousand hectares, it is engaged in breeding and commercial pig breeding, crop production, meat processing, the production of animal feed, SUGAR, and confectionery. In 2022, the Bashkir Meat Company, which is part of the agricultural holding, ranked 13th in terms of pork production in RUSSIA, producing 101.3 thousand tons of products in live weight, according to the National Union of Pig Breeders. At the end of June, Alfa-Bank became the owner of 19.01% of the Tavros management company, the HEAD structure of the agricultural holding owned by Rustem Mirgalimov, managing partner of AVG Capital Partners. Its share in the UK decreased to 80.98%.
