Tatarstan will increase the export of halal products by 20% in 2023

Tatarstan will expand the export of halal products in 2023. As the Minister of Agriculture of the republic said in a commentary for TASS, the active development of this industry has been going on in the region since 2020.

So, according to the agency, in 2022, halal products worth $6.5 million were exported. In 2021 - $5 million, that is, $.5 million less. And in 2020, the volume of exports of halal products amounted to only $2.5 million. In the next two or three years, the region will continue to actively develop the export of halal products, the ministry is sure, and the main buyers will be the CIS countries and Arab countries, where the predominantly Muslim population lives .

The export of halal products is a new, but actively developing direction for the region, the department notes. Manufacturers have an idea of ​​where to go next and what markets to develop.

In total, the production of halal products in Russia has doubled since 2019, according to Roscongress. Experts predict export growth in this industry to $400 million by 2024 and up to $700 million by 2030. Arab countries show great interest in Russian halal products.
