Tambov region tripled poultry exports

The Tambov region reports success in the export of poultry meat. In 2021, deliveries in this direction have tripled, according to the Ministry of Agriculture of the region.

For 11 months, 16 thousand tons of poultry meat were shipped to foreign markets. Among the main buyers are China, the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.

In total, during the reporting period, Tambov region supplied meat to foreign customers in the amount of 44 thousand tons. A large share of exports is pork: 28 thousand tons. Compared to 2020, its shipments increased by 7%. Importers of Tambov pork are Ukraine, Belarus, Armenia and Southeast Asian countries.

The regional Ministry of Agriculture also reported that in January-November, pork production in the region amounted to 203 thousand tons, poultry meat - over 320 thousand tons. In the nomenclature of all types of produced meat, the share of poultry is the largest: almost 55%. It will rise in 2021 as two of the region's major poultry farms complete their capacity upgrades and increase production.
