Over 1,100 cows were artificially inseminated in private farms in Transbaikalia in January

1,112 cows were artificially inseminated in private farms in six districts of Transbaikalia in January, said Denis Bochkarev, HEAD of the regional agrarian department.

“At the request of rural settlements of Petrovsk-Zabaykalsky, Uletovsky, Chitinsky, Kyrinsky, Priargunsky and Borzinsky districts, the Zabaikalsky Center for Breeding Animal Husbandry supplied seed, equipment and nitrogen for artificial insemination of breeding stock of cattle by insemination technicians. Owners of personal subsidiary farms from these areas in their applications preferred the seed of Simmental bulls, which allows you to get offspring of the MEAT and dairy direction,” the minister said.

He noted that artificial insemination in private farms in the region is carried out under the program for the development of the agro-industrial complex of the Trans-Baikal Territory until 2023.

“Farm owners do not incur any acquisition costs associated with this technology. All procedures are carried out free of charge,” Denis Bochkarev specified.

Artificial insemination solves many problems associated with obtaining offspring and makes it possible to predict the date of calving. At present, this technology is the most accessible element of selection and breeding work for agricultural producers of Transbaikalia. The result is ensured through the use of first-class producers, thanks to which it is possible to massively and qualitatively improve the livestock of farm animals.
