Pig-breeding complex "Central" is checked by the prosecutor's office

The prosecutor's office of the Tambov region joined the epizootic investigation related to the outbreak of African swine fever at the feedlot of Tsentralnoye LLC in the Nikiforovsky district.

Quarantine for ASF in the Nikiforovsky district has been introduced since April 30. So far, regional authorities and veterinary services do not specify how many animals will be destroyed when the outbreak is eliminated, although it is known that the damage will be significant. Now the company, founded in 2002, is being checked for compliance with veterinary legislation.

The pig-breeding complex "Central" in the village of Dmitrievka, Nikiforovsky district, belongs to the former first deputy chairman of the board of PJSC Gazprom, Alexander Ryazanov. The feedlot, declared an epizootic focus of ASF, is designed for 13.5 thousand pigs. Only their depopulation will result in economic losses of about 280 million rubles.

Experts note that the attention of law enforcement agencies to incidents related to the spread of ASF has increased. The owners and management of farms cannot be 100% secure from criminal liability even if all the requirements are met.

The removal of pigs in the threatened zone should be completed on May 11th. Local farmers will be compensated at the rate of 100 rubles per kilogram of live weight of commercial pigs, 80 rubles per kilogram of live weight of sows, 50 rubles per kilogram of live weight of boars and 250 rubles per kilogram of pig products.
