Swine flu, known as the H1N1 virus , was first discovered in 2009. it can spread from pigs to people, causing symptoms similar to the common flu: high fever,cough , sore throat, muscle pain and fatigue. In most cases, the disease is mild, but there is a risk of serious complications, especially for people with weakened immune systems.

Currently, Karelia is also seeing cases of rhinovirus, seasonal CORONAVIRUS and covid-19 . Over the current month, more than 4,000 people have fallen ill with ARVI, a large number of cases have been registered in Petrozavodsk, which increases the concern of doctors and residents of the region.
