US Hog Market Review for Week 6, February 10, 2025

Lean pork futures closed with contracts up 20-60 cents on Friday, as February was up $3.07 for the week. The national average benchmark pork contract price was reported at $83.17 on Friday afternoon, down $3.06 from the previous day. The CME Lean Hog ​​Index settled at $85.05 on February 5, up 45 cents from the previous day.

The price of pork on a free on board basis was $1.36 higher at $97.00 per hundredweight. Loin and ribs fell, while brisket led the increase, rising $7.52. Federally inspected hog slaughter this week was estimated at 2.536 million HEAD. This is 33,000 head lower than last week due to lower slaughter on Saturday and 87,899 head lower than the same week last year.
