The USDA said on Thursday morning that pork EXPORT sales fell to 30,000 tons from 49,000 tons. Sales to CHINA , the world's largest consumer of pork, fell to 5,600 tons from 14,200 tons. Signs of sluggish demand from China , despite the end of the zero-tolerance policy against covid-19 , weighed on pork prices throughout the spring. The most actively traded June LHM3 lean pork futures fell 0.3 cents to 83.875 cents a pound.

The U.S. Supreme COURT on Thursday upheld a California law that bans the sale of pork in America's most populous state from confined pigs, dismissing an industry claim that the voter-backed animal welfare measure unacceptably regulates out-of-state farmers.
