USA: Week 14 Pig Market Review 2023

The export sales report for the week ending March 30 reported exports of 53,242 tons of pork. It was a new high for the year thanks to sales in China. USDA also shipped 31,519 tons of pork in the week, bringing the weekly data to an annual volume of 388,000 tons .

Pork futures edged up $0.10-$1.10 ahead of the long weekend. The USDA pork tenderloin price rose $2.12 to $78.68. Slaughter of pigs for the week is estimated at 1.924 million heads through Thursday. This is 3,000 more than last week and 44,000 more than the same week last year.
