Futures of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) group of cattle in the US traded in different directions.

Livestock futures hit multi-week lows and ended trading mixed as economic concerns largely offset support from a sharp decline in corn feed prices and stress heat on the US plains.

Quotes fell sharply on Thursday after US data showed that consumer spending rose less than expected in May. “Today we talked more about the overall macroeconomic performance,” says Ted Seyfried, chief agricultural strategist at Zaner Group.
