
Average broiler prices in the US market as of October 15, 2021 showed multidirectional dynamics. The average cost of broilers in September 2021 was 105.75 cents/lb (+0.9% m/m, +66.3% y/y), with total sales of around 41,356 thousand pounds (-7.1% m/m) , -8.8% per year).
Prices for poultry of all categories fell, except for the cost of a bird weighing up to 2.51 pounds (+1.96$).
Global chicken MEAT production is expected to grow by 1.8% in 2022 to a record high of 100.9 million tonnes. Brazil and CHINA are forecast to show production growth of 2.6% and 2.1%, respectively, to 14.3 and 14.7 million tonnes in 2022.
At the same time, production growth will be supported by a 2.6% increase in chicken meat exports to 13.3 million tons. Brazil and the European Union forecast chicken meat exports to grow by 3.1% and 2.8%, respectively, due to a stronger global demand.
