USA: Week 32 Broiler Market Review 2023

Average prices for chicken cuts showed a negative trend, with a noticeable drop in prices for drumsticks and legs. 

CHINA and some smaller importers have maintained a ban on U.S. poultry imports , despite no new cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) in months. China, South Africa and the Dominican Republic are maintaining import bans on poultry from 37 states that have previously reported HPAI infections, USDA reports show. Mexico, the main market for US poultry MEAT, has largely lifted trade bans, although shipments from Colorado, Washington State and counties in several other states remain blocked. EXPORT losses from the outbreak are $895 million, the U.S. Poultry and Egg Export Board said.
