Average broiler prices in the US market have been on a downward trend for the fifth week in a row. Over the week, the price tag lost 0.54%, sales volumes increased by 4.1% over the week. Prices for chicken butchering are also declining. Prices for raw chicken breast fillets fell more than $9, the biggest weekly correction since October 2021, when prices fell 7% in a week. There was a 2.6% downward adjustment this week. Legs and drumsticks also fell significantly in price - by 4% per piece.
The wholesale chicken MEAT market has been growing for the better part of six months. The Wings were one of the few parts to see year-on-year declines and a generally downward price curve. Wing prices are down about 40% from last year. Boneless and skinless chicken breasts are up 65% even with weakness this week, chicken legs are up 46% and thighs are up 30%.
