USA: Broiler market review for week 12 from March 25, 2024

Average prices for chicken cutting showed a positive adjustment against the backdrop of rising prices for all items.

This month, broiler production forecasts for 2024 were increased by increasing the spread between feed costs and wholesale prices. Forecast broiler prices were unchanged, but exports were adjusted downward due to a more competitive international market. Egg production declines in the first quarter of 2024 due to a smaller laying flock. Egg prices have been adjusted downward based on the latest data, and projected imports and exports of eggs and egg products are unchanged from last month. Projected turkey production for the first half of 2024 has been adjusted downward based on the latest egg placement data, and projected exports have been adjusted slightly upward based on the latest trade data. Prices in the first quarter were adjusted upward.
