
The list includes more than ten diseases and their variants, many of which impact the HEALTH of farm animals. These include African swine fever , Venezuelan and Japanese equine encephalitis, rinderpest , sheep adenomatosis, Akabane disease , West Nile fever, and Rift Valley fever. Avian diseases, such as influenza subtypes H5 and H7, are also being studied, as well as certain diseases common to various animal species, such as brucellosis. The laboratory and diagnostic center has received accreditation for research on an additional 29 indicators. This significant expansion allows scientists to more effectively diagnose and respond to particularly dangerous, economically significant, and exotic infectious diseases.
The institute currently has accreditation for 182 research methods, which is necessary for identifying diseases, promptly responding to emerging threats, maintaining a favorable epizootic situation in the country, and conducting scientific research on the diagnosis and prevention of infectious diseases, the VNIIZh press center reported.
