Cherkizovo employees collected things for the capital's homeless animal shelters

“For Cherkizovo, volunteer events have already become a good tradition. Our employees take care not only of people who find themselves in difficult life situations, but also of animals who are left without a roof over their heads. For the third year in a row, volunteers from different sites of the company - both from offices and from production - visit shelters: they bring necessary things there, insulate enclosures, walk four-legged pets, thereby contributing to their socialization,” says the DIRECTOR of Communications of Cherkizovo Group. This year, before the onset of cold weather, baskets were installed at the Moscow sites of the Cherkizovo Group (two offices and the Cherkizovsky MEAT processing plant) to collect things that shelters for dogs and cats need: food, medicine , hygiene products, leashes and harnesses, blankets and beds and much more. The company's employees took a very responsible approach to collecting things - there were enough of them for several fully loaded cars.

And on Saturday, November 25, Cherkizovo volunteers went to two metropolitan shelters located in the Biryulyovo and Ostankino districts. There they were met by representatives of the RAY Foundation for Helping Homeless Animals, who gave them excursions and introduced them to their charges. After that, the company’s volunteers took the dogs for a walk: each one got not just one dog, but several in turn.

Volunteers come to shelters mainly on weekends, so every walk for dogs is a holiday . But for some it can be a lot of stress, since many shelter residents are not familiar with walking at all, and a harness or collar makes them afraid.

Representatives of the RAY Foundation claim that a walk with a shelter dog is not a trifle at all, but an opportunity to begin socialization: not to be afraid of new people, cars, not to rush at other dogs, to learn to trust a person and follow his commands. All this increases the dog's chances of finding a new loving family.
