Livestock decline in Novosibirsk region continues: cows, horses and sheep in short supply

By November 2024 , the number of cows decreased to 103 thousand, and at the end of 2023 there were 112,273. Over the nine months of last year, the number of cows decreased by 9,246 heads - for comparison, previously the average decrease was 6 thousand heads per year. In addition, the number of horses decreased to 19.2 thousand (-11%), and goats and sheep decreased by 7% - only 131.3 thousand. At the same time, the number of pigs increased by 4.8%, and now there are almost 347 thousand heads in the region. Average MEAT prices continue to rise: as of June 26, the cost of beef in stores was 707 rubles per kilogram (in January - 599 rubles, +18%), pork rose in price to 408 rubles (in January - 388 rubles, +5%), and lamb reached 758 rubles (659 rubles, +15%).
