Brazil-China Poultry Trade Agreement

Since 2019, CHINA has imposed significant anti-dumping duties, which have seriously affected Brazilian poultry processors and reduced their competitiveness. Some of them have agreed to "price commitments" to maintain prices above the minimum set. However, thanks to intensive negotiations and bilateral cooperation mechanisms reached in 2023, a positive result was achieved and these tariff barriers were lifted. Brazilian poultry

exports to China have shown strong growth despite the tariff barriers. In 2023, Brazil exported $1.61 billion in poultry MEAT to China , a significant increase compared to the previous year. The Brazilian Animal Protein Association (ABPA) welcomes China's decision and sees it as a confirmation of the strong relationship between the two countries, as well as between the private sectors on both sides.

Brazil maintains its position as the world's largest chicken exporter, while China becomes the second largest consumer. This agreement opens up new prospects for the development of trade relations between the two countries and may lead to further strengthening of their economic partnership.
