Chocolate and sweets in cattle feed can improve meat quality

The positive properties of sweets in cattle feed have long been used on specialized cattle fattening farms for the production of premium MEAT or MILK with special properties. There are examples of raising livestock on such a diet among domestic livestock breeders, the Russian Agricultural Bank said in a statement.

Experts from Svoye Media from Rosselkhozbank cite as an example Australian farmers who add two kilograms of crushed sweets to regular feed - thanks to this, the meat gets a sweetish-nutty flavor and a special delicate texture. Japan does the same, and Italian farmers feed dairy cows sweet berries — strawberries and cherries — to make premium sweet cheese from milk.

In RUSSIA, farmers from the Perm Territory and the Kaliningrad Region distinguished themselves with special “sweet” diets. In both cases, the report notes, the stories are similar - confectionery factories want to get rid of production waste or expired products, and farmers want to increase milk yield and fat content, and in the future get expensive marbled beef

Cattle diet and feed experts say that cattle feeds are often too dry and low in sugars and healthy carbohydrates. The sweetness in the feed makes it more attractive to livestock, causing the animal to eat its portion whole. A good appetite accelerates weight gain, improves the quality of milk , the fertility of breeding stock. At the same time, only 200 grams of sweets are enough for an adult cow and 100 grams for a calf, experts say.
