Barbecue set in Russia has risen in price by 8%

Anton is a barbecue fan, but he only takes it on holidays. Now he is “training” for the May ones. The marinade is simple: mayonnaise, ketchup, soy sauce. There are also onion rings, black pepper.  

“15-20 minutes is enough,” he clarifies.

This April is warmer than last year. And since the beginning of the month, sales of barbecue sets have grown by 20%. And now, after the Lent and before the May holidays, the barbecue boom is generally coming, even despite the rise in prices: over the year, a barbecue set has risen in price by about 8 percent. 

And basically the price of the set has increased due to barbecues. Their price has increased by more than a third. The average steel brazier now costs about 6 thousand. More - 12. The cheapest - 1500 rubles.

WHY PRICES FOR RUSSIAN BRAZIERS GROWED?

One of the largest Russian enterprises is located in the Tver region, where barbecues are produced at the so-called full-cycle production. 

That is, they do everything themselves: they buy large steel sheets, cut out the necessary details from them, give them shape and volume. “Growth, as metallurgists said, is associated with railway transportation, an increase in energy prices. The head of the Ministry of Construction raised a wave about this. The Federal Antimonopoly Service has not yet found any gross violations, but nevertheless, metallurgists have lowered the price a little, and now it is beginning to be corrected,” says Grigory Ivanov, president of the Association of Metalworking Enterprises.

At the same time, metal grills for grilling and skewers even slightly fell in price - by 4 percent.

“We entered the top 5 global pork producers. Internal competition is intensifying, and we have a systemic decline from year to year. Production grows by 5-6% on average. Wholesale prices are reduced by about 5–6%,” said Yuri Kovalev, general DIRECTOR of the National Union of Pig Breeders.
