Senators interested in duties on exports of agricultural products

Senators during a meeting with the HEAD of the Ministry of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev were interested in EXPORT duties on agro-industrial products, investment quotas in the fishing industry, measures to develop dairy cattle breeding, said Alexei Mayorov, head of the agrarian committee of the Federation Council.

On Monday, the Federation Council hosted a meeting of legislators with the minister as part of the preparation of the "government hour" on March 31 with the participation of Patrushev on the topic: "On the implementation of the state program for the development of agriculture and the regulation of markets for agricultural products, raw materials and food."

"The materials presented by the Ministry of Agriculture for the" government hour "show that agricultural production this year will develop according to the optimal scenario," Mayorov told reporters following the event.

According to him, this will be facilitated by the high readiness of agricultural producers for the new season, the expansion of sown areas, as well as the current state support measures.

"This year, the situation for farmers has been very favorable, which will contribute to the stable development of the agro-industrial complex," Mayorov believes.

The senator clarified that during the meeting with the minister, the parliamentarians were interested in such topics as "the possibility of reducing the export customs duty on soybeans from 30 to 6%, the implementation of the investment quota mechanism in the fishing industry, measures to develop dairy cattle breeding, improving genetic resources in animal husbandry, measures to protect livestock from diseases, promotion of goods of small agricultural producers".

In addition, the meeting discussed the containment of prices for mineral fertilizers, support and development of small and medium-sized businesses in rural areas.
