The Saratov branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "All-Russian Research Institute of Animal Health" conducted tests on more than 2,000 samples for food safety and quality indicators.

As part of the state task plan for laboratory testing of the safety and quality of raw materials and animal products, 383 food product samples were delivered. These samples were tested for residual amounts of antibacterial drugs, anthelmintics, pesticides, preservatives, and prohibited food additives.

28 non-compliances with regulatory requirements were identified in 17 samples.

The antibiotic doxycycline was detected in a pork sample, the antibiotics florfenicol , trimethoprim and sulfamethazine were found in a sausage sample , the quinolones ofloxacin and enrofloxacin were found in 5 poultry samples, one detection of coccidiostatics in poultry MEAT was recorded, the antibiotic trimethoprim was found in a butter sample, 7 dairy product samples did not meet the requirements for fatty acid composition, 4 excess pesticide levels were detected in wheat, sorbic acid was found in 4 dairy product samples, and the food additive microbial transglutaminase was found in cottage cheese and sausage.

During the specified period, the department received 1,700 samples of feed, grain, and food products for testing for certification/declaration purposes.

9,700 tests were conducted to verify compliance with regulatory requirements in force in the Russian Federation. Eighty-six non-conformities were found in 41 samples.

The pesticide pirimiphos-methyl was detected in three wheat samples , and microbial transglutaminase was detected in two samples of a complex food additive. Seven samples of toxic compound feed were also identified.

The research results indicate the need to strengthen controls over the safety and quality of food products and feed.
