The number of pigs in the Krasnodar Territory has increased by 13.4 thousand since the beginning of the year.
In March, there were 638 thousand heads of pigs in the farms of the Kuban. The most noticeable growth was noted at specialized livestock enterprises in the Kanevsky and Kalininsky districts of the Krasnodar Territory.
In terms of the pace of development of pig breeding, the Krasnodar Territory has become one of the leaders of the Russian Federation. Now eight modern pig-breeding complexes operate on its territory. In 2020, the first stage of a large breeding and genetic center for 40,000 heads was launched in the Yeisk District, where pedigree young pigs of the Yorkshire, Landrace and Large White breeds will be raised.
