“In our opinion, imports may provide a small additional supply of goods, but food security will not improve, the industry will not gain investment attractiveness, and egg prices from foreign suppliers, taking into account logistics , are unlikely to be lower than Russian prices even with a zero duty,” - Leonov said.

He noted that wholesale prices for eggs in Kazakhstan, as well as in RUSSIA, have been growing since June. At the same time, the cost of a dozen eggs from Kazakh producers in December in ruble terms was 82.5 rubles, which is comparable to the prices of Russian producers.

According to the association, from January 8 to January 14, a dozen eggs in Russia on average cost 133.9 rubles, a week earlier - 133.2 rubles.

“The dynamics are still upward, but the growth rate has slowed down, this is a sign that an equilibrium point of supply and demand will soon be found, and the shelf will stabilize,” Leonov noted.
