Rostov turkey production provides enterprises of two regions with incubation eggs

Damate 's Rostov turkey plant produces 11 million hatching eggs per year, the company said. These eggs are more than twice as many as required by the enterprise. The surplus is delivered to the Penza region.

The fourth unit of the reproducer has been launched at the enterprise, now all parent flocks produce eggs, the company noted. Recall that Damate started creating its own turkey parent flock in 2020 and so far is the only turkey producer in RUSSIA with its own production of hatching eggs. The young of the herd was imported from abroad, now the herd has 130 heads, 11 million hatching eggs are produced per year by ponies.

For the operation of the enterprise, 5 million eggs are needed per year, the company noted. The remaining 6 million are supplied to the Penza region, where the Damate turkey production facility is also located.

Another large enterprise for the production of turkey hatching eggs opened in November 2022 in Tyumen, the company reported earlier. it also belongs to the Damate company, in total, ten sites are planned to be built here: five for the “youth” and five for 138 thousand adults. The first eggs are planned to be harvested at the production facility in the second quarter of 2023, and reaching the design capacity is predicted in a calendar season. At its peak, the facility will produce up to 12 million tons of hatching eggs per year.

The well-coordinated work of two large reproductive sites will reduce Russia's dependence on the supply of hatching eggs from abroad, while the quality of the eggs will increase, as the risks associated with transporting eggs over long distances will decrease, experts say.
