Growth in Veterinary Drug Production in Russia: New Achievements and High Technologies

Last year, RUSSIA produced 32.4 billion doses of immunobiological veterinary drugs, a 73% increase over 2022 levels. In the first quarter of this year, vaccine production reached 6.3 billion doses. To combat particularly dangerous and economically significant animal diseases, such as rabies and anthrax,Domestic vaccines are used to treat brucellosis and leptospirosis. The Ministry of Agriculture annually purchases and distributes approximately 73 different types of these vaccines to the regions.

Russian manufacturers are actively replacing imported veterinary drugs and increasing domestic production for both farm and pet animals. According to ROSSELKHOZNADZOR , the supply of rabies vaccines for dogs and cats increased by 26.4% in the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year. As of April 1, regional state veterinary services had 3.3 million doses of vaccines for preventive and emergency immunization of dogs and cats against this disease.
