
On the wholesale market, prices for Russian beef increased by 8.7% year-on-year, while imported beef (such as Brazilian) increased more significantly: by 17.6%. Beef production in the first half of 2025 decreased by 3.5%, due to the specifics of cattle farming in Russia—dairy cattle, which account for the majority of beef production, are the main herd size. Demand for beef is increasing, and in 2024 , it is expected to grow by 7%.
Experts predict that this price trend will continue, particularly due to rising energy and feed prices. By the end of September, beef prices are expected to rise by another 1-2%.
