Rosstat recorded a fall in egg prices for the second week in a row

Prices for chicken eggs in Russia decreased by 1.41% from January 16 to January 22, 2024 , according to Rosstat data. For the first time , egg prices in 2024 went from rising to declining during the week from January 10 to 15 (minus 0.2%). Before this, eggs last fell in price in June last year.

Other products that fell in price over the last week include chicken meat (minus 0.8%), tomatoes (minus 0.4%), pork (minus 0.3%), granulated sugar and buckwheat (minus 0.2%), hard, semi-hard and soft cheeses (minus 0.1%).

At the same time, white cabbage rose in price by 2.8%, carrots  - by 1.9%, bananas - by 1.7%, beets - by 1.5%, onions - by 1.1%, cucumbers and apples - by 1%, butter and black tea - by 0.5%, cottage cheese and table salt  - by 0.4%.
