Production of livestock and poultry for slaughter in live weight in the first quarter decreased by 2.2% to 3.5 million tons. The production of these products in March compared to March 2020 decreased by 1.1% and amounted to 1.2 million tons. Compared to February 2021, production growth in this segment was 9.6%.
The volume of agricultural production in Russia in January-March 2021 increased by 0.4% compared to the same period in 2020 and amounted to 714.6 billion rubles.
"The volume of agricultural production of all agricultural producers (agricultural organizations, peasant (farm) households, households) in March 2021 in current prices, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 319.2 billion rubles, in the first quarter of 2021 - 714.6 billion rubles ", the department said.
Rosstat also reported that as of April 1, sowing was carried out by agricultural organizations in 14 constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Spring crops were sown on an area of 224 thousand hectares (5.6 times less than by this time in the previous year), of which cereals and legumes (without corn) - on 172 thousand hectares (4.5 times less).
At the end of March 2021, the number of cattle in the farms of all agricultural producers, according to calculations, amounted to 18.4 million heads (1.1% less compared to the corresponding date of the previous year), of which 7.9 million cows (by 1 .2% less), pigs - 26.3 million (0.7% more), sheep and goats - 22.4 million heads (3.4% less), poultry - 541.6 million (1.3% more). % smaller). In the structure of livestock, households accounted for 40.2% of cattle, 8.9% of pigs, 46.6% of sheep and goats (as of the end of March 2020 - respectively 41%, 9.8%, 46.3% ).
