Rosstat notes an increase in the production of livestock and poultry for slaughter

In March, livestock and poultry produced 1.3 million tons for slaughter, a 1.5% increase compared to the same month a year earlier. Meanwhile, livestock and poultry production at agricultural enterprises increased by 2.2% in March.

An increase in MILK production has also been noted. In total, the country produced 7.5 million tons of this product in the first quarter, representing a 2.2% increase compared to January–March 2023.

In March, milk production reached 2.7 million tons, representing a year-on-year increase of 1.3%.

Milk yield per cow in the first quarter of this year reached 2097 kg, compared to 1975 kg in the first quarter of last year.

Since the beginning of the year, 10.8 billion eggs have been produced. This is 2.1% less than the previous year. In March, 3.8 billion eggs were produced, 2.3% less than in March 2023. Meanwhile, egg production by laying hens in agricultural organizations continues to increase. it currently averages 78 eggs, compared to 77 a year ago.
