Since the beginning of the year, butter has become more expensive by 10.27%, while pasteurized and sterilized MILK have increased in price by 4.97% and 5.65%.
Sunflower oil increased in price by 0.06% during the reporting week (by 0.31% the week before, and by 1.52% since the beginning of the year), while SUGAR continued to fall in price, falling by 0.04% (by 0.02% the week before, and by 8.03% since the beginning of the year).
SALT increased in price by 0.11% over the week, by 0.42% the week before, and by 6.46% since the beginning of the year. Since the beginning of the year, bread has risen slightly more in price than salt: by August 12, black bread had increased by 7.26%, while white bread had risen by 7.45% (from August 6 to 12, prices for these breads increased by 0.24% and 0.22%, respectively, and from July 30 to August 5, by 0.1% and 0.21%).
Cereals have also gone up in price: Rosstat recorded increases in the price of rice (up 0.01%), buckwheat (up 0.19%), and millet (up 0.26%). A week earlier, rice and millet had fallen by 0.02% and 0.12%, respectively, while buckwheat had risen by 0.23%. From the beginning of the year through August 12, rice has increased in price by 3.85%, while millet and buckwheat have fallen by 0.67% and 4.48%.
Chicken eggs and chicken MEAT fell in price over the week by 0.5% and 0.09% (vs. 1.01% and 0.06% a week earlier, and 19.03% and 3.09% year-to-date).
Fruit and vegetable prices also fell this week, down 0.9% overall. Specifically, carrots fell by 3.36% (up 46.37% year-to-date through August 12), beets by 2.63% (up 49.52% year-to-date), potatoes by 1.95% (up 86.12% year-to-date), and onions by 1.07% and 27.3%.
White cabbage and apples increased in price by 1.76% and 0.13% over the week, and by 55.38% and 35.74% year-to-date. Tomatoes and cucumbers fell in price (by 1.57% and 1.11% over the week, and by 21.64% and 43.47% year-to-date).
