Russia for 11 months of 2022 increased the export of poultry meat by 19%

For 11 months of 2022, the Russian Federation exported 323.3 thousand tons of poultry meat, which is 19% more than in the corresponding period of the previous year, according to the presentation of the National Poultry Union at the Interregional Agro-Industrial Conference in Chelyabinsk on Wednesday.

Moreover, the share of poultry meat accounted for a significant part of the total supply of Russian meat abroad. Their volume amounted to 499.6 thousand tons (5% more).

As Sergey Lakhtyukhov, Director General of the Union, stated at the conference, exports are growing despite the sanctions pressure associated with restrictions on logistics and services, in particular, insurance.

According to him, "a fairly serious increase" has been achieved in exports to non-CIS countries, primarily to China .and Saudi Arabia. "Saudi Arabia has shown tremendous growth. Supplies to the United Arab Emirates have grown. Africa has become a fairly serious importer of Russian turkey, despite the fact that this is more expensive meat, premium," Lakhtyukhov said.

In addition, a significant part of Russian poultry meat exports went to the EAEU countries. "So, at the end of last year, Belarus began to import both the carcass as a whole, and the fillet, and cutting. Exports to Kazakhstan increased very much," the head of the union noted.
