According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, in 2024 , MEAT production in various categories of farms increased by 2.1%, reaching 16.9 million tons. There is also growth in processing: the volume of sausage production amounted to 2.5 million tons (+ 1.6%), semi-finished meat products - 4.9 million tons (+ 4.7%), canned goods - 913 thousand tons (+ 1.9%). The level of self-sufficiency in meat in the country exceeds 100%. Yushin also commented on global trends, noting a decrease in interest in plant-based meat substitutes, the sale of which amounts to only 1-1.5 million tons, while natural meat was sold for about 1.4-1.6 trillion dollars with a total consumption of 370 million tons.
