The problem that all businesses running cattle herds face is how the cattle unwittingly push some of the feed away from them. As scientists from the Baltic Federal University explained, the employees of the enterprise are required to regularly push the feed back to the cows. If this is not done, the cows do not eat up, in addition, they may begin to fight for more “bread” places. All this leads to stress in animals and loss of milk yield, the scientists said.

Scientists estimate that it takes 500 hours a year to push the feed - and these hours have to be paid, scientists say, while using a robot can reduce staff costs.

The Agrobot, developed by scientists, was created specifically to push feed towards cows. Among the advantages is a completely domestic development, the scientists explained: the robot will be cheaper than foreign analogues, and it will be assembled from domestic components at factories in Russia so as not to depend on imported supplies.

At the moment, "Agrobot" is being tested in one of the largest farms in the Kaliningrad region, the scientists said in a statement.
